Aldo von Wangenheim

Full Professor at UFSC and graduated in Computer Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC (1989) and received his Ph.D. degree (Dr. rer.nat.) in Computer Sciences from the University of Kaiserslautern (1996). Presently he is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC and Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Paraná - UFPR, acting at the Postgraduate Programs on Computer Sciences of both universities. He is also professor at the Computer Sciences, Information Systems and Medicine Undergraduate Programs at UFSC. He has working and research experience in the areas of Content Production for Interactive Digital TV, Image Analysis and Processing, Health Informatics and Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Telemedicine, Teleradiology, Support Systems for Image Diagnosis and Medical Image Processing, focusing mainly on the following subjects: Intelligent and High-Performance Image Analysis, DICOM, Content-Based Image Retrieval - CBIR, Medical Informatics, Computer Vision and PACS. He coordinates the Brazilian National Institute for Digital Convergence (INCoD - www.incod.ufsc.br) and is Technical Coordinator of the Santa Catarina State Telemedicine Network (RCTM). He is also coordinator of the Telehealth Standardization Working Group of the Telehealth Permanent Committee of the Brazilian Health Ministry. He is a founding member and ex-coordinator of the Health Informatics Committee of Brazilian Technical Standards Association ? ABNT/CEET 00:001.78. He also coordinated the RFP6 ? Content ? of the Brazilian Interactive Digital Television System Programme (SBTVD) of the Brazilian Communication Ministry. Since 2007, he is coordinator of the Santa Catarina State Telehealth Center in the context of the Brazilian Telehealth Programme, maintained byBrazilian Health Ministry and of Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and allso coordinator for the Santa Catarina State of the Brazilian University Telemedicine Network (RUTE). https://linktr.ee/aldo.vw
