Is there a chat template available for use with transformers? If not, I guess the images and texts can be interleaved with no restrictions.
Hey! There is no chat template, the model works in conversation mode by default, without special templates. yes, you can interleave and pass images/texts as you need :)

You just have to use the example code from model page, no special treatment needed. Just put special image token to places where an image should be and pass as many images as there are image tokens
