Open Source?
Hello.
I wanted to reach out and express my appreciation for the demo of transcription and diarization that you have developed. It is impressive work and has been incredibly useful for me.
As a user of the demo, I noticed that it currently does not have an open source license. I was wondering if you would consider adding one? Having an open source license would allow others to use and contribute to the code, which would make it even more valuable to the community.
There are many open source licenses to choose from, such as the MIT License or the GNU General Public License. If you have any questions about the process or need help selecting a license, I would be happy to assist you.
Thank you for your consideration and for creating such a valuable resource.
Hi
@vumichien
In terms of which license to use, Open Source licenses like the MIT and Apache 2.0 license are both good options to consider. The MIT license is a permissive license that allows for free use, modification, and distribution of the software, while the Apache 2.0 license is similar but also includes specific patent protection language. The Apache 2.0 license also allows to be part of the https://www.bigcode-project.org/docs/about/ip/. Both licenses are widely used and well-respected in the open source community. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on your specific needs and goals for the project.
